Church Suicide Bomber Kills 22

A suicide bomber who detonated himself inside an Indonesian church killed 22 people Sunday, according to msnbc.com.

"We are now waiting for DNA test results to confirm his identity," said Police Chief Gen. Timur Pradopo to the news site. "We hope to reveal it soon."

Witnesses claim to have seen the man before and after the bombing.

"I saw fiery sparks and, near the entrance, a man dead on the ground, his entrails spilling out. People around him were splattered with blood,” said Fani, an Indonesian who goes by only one name, to Metro TV.

"He walked about 4 meters behind me," said Abraham, another Indonesian citizen, to El Shinta radio. "I believe he was disguised as a churchgoer."

Rina Ristriningsih, who works at a local café near the church, said she saw the suspected bomber perusing Islamic websites there about an hour before the blast. She added that he left a Quran, a mask and a cellphone charger at the café, all of which were confiscated by the police.

Indonesia has been riddled with suicide bombers from the al-Qaida sect Jemaah Islamiyah since 2002.

"Whoever is behind such violence has to be arrested," President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said to MSNBC. "Crime is crime, terrorism is terrorism."
